Rockin' Green Laundry Detergent - Review & Giveaway:

Rockin' Green
Ever since I started cloth diapering I've been researching laundry detergents. Rockin' Green is one of the most highly recommended detergent to use with cloth diapers among the cloth diaper world! I was given the priveledge to review not one, but three samples of the Rockin' Green (I chose the Razing Raspberries Scent). All opinions are my own and I was not paid for this review.

So the packaging suggested doing a soak FIRST with your diapers prior to washing with their soap. I did a 12 hour soak since my diapers seem to have a lot of build up...so I put HOT water in the tub, dumb #2s diapers in the tub and put in 3TBSP of Rockin' Green Raging Raspberries, boy did it smell yummy...not like the poo it usually smells like!

After a night of overnight soaking (boy was the tub icky when I was done with this soak) I loaded the diapers into the pail and carried them downstairs, had I been more thoughtful I would've done this in the bathroom RIGHT NEXT TO THE LAUNDRY ROOM, but nope, I did it the hard way. I then dumped the diapers into the washer and did a COLD wash without soap.
After the cold wash I added 3 TBSP of the awesome Rockin' Green soap and set the washer for a HOT wash with an extra cold rinse.

When that cycle was done, my diapers were ready to be dried. I hang dry all my pocket diapers, but dry my inserts on low (or when its possible and not really windy I hang them outside because the sun is a natural bleacher for diapers).

When they were dry I folded them and quickly grabbed #2 to put a NEW CLEAN FRESH SMELLING diaper on...in 2 hours I didn't smell anything, she was clean as a whistle (but yet had actually peed in the diaper). It was a great success, the diapers didn't have any residue smell and they were whiter than normal. I haven't noticed as much of a build up after using Rockin' Green as I have with other detergents before. I can honestly say that I will be switching to Rockin' Green for laundering especially #3's diapers (since #2 is ALMOST in the potty training stage).

Here's a little information on Rockin' Green, taken directly from their website.
Our classic formula is great for cloth diapers and regular clothes. So use it on everything! This formula is designed for those with middle of the road water, not too soft and not too hard. When in doubt start with classic rock! (Which is what I used, since we have a water softener.)

Rockin’ Green not only kicks butt in the washroom, but it smells AMAZING! It comes in several different scents, so there is always something new to try. So the only hard part is deciding which one to try first!
  • Mighty Mighty Marshmallow - it's sweet and nutty, and very mighty!
  • Smashing Watermelons- this juicy watermelon blend is like a kick to your senses..Best Seller!
  • Earth, Wind & Orchids- this scent is flowered with inviting hints of tartness, floral, woods, honeysuckles and sugar. *NEW*

  4. Rage Against the Raspberry would be my choice! I love Raspberry! I would be interested in trying another detergent since the city switched water and I dont like it! Is it bad that I miss our hard water?
