Apple Songs & Finger Plays

This week we'll be talking about APPLES and the letter A so I thought I'd share some of the songs and finger plays we'll be doing!

Apple Tree Tune: Row, Row, Row Your Boat
Apple, Apple Apple tree
Big as it can be
Shake the apples you will see
They won't fall on me!

Do You Know the Apple Man? Tune: The Muffin Man
Oh, do you know the Apple Man, 
The Apple Man, 
The Apple Man?
Oh, do you know the Apple Man, 
Who likes to play with me? 

Oh, he has a great big smile,
 A great big smile, 
A great big smile,
Oh, he has a great big smile
And likes to play with me

Applesauce Tune: Yankee Doodle
Peel an apple, 
Cut it up,
Cook it in a pot.
When you taste it
You will find
It's applesauce you've got!

Look at the Apple Tune: The Mulberry Bush
Look at the apple I have found, 
So fat and rosy on the ground
Mother will wash it and
Cut it in two -- 
Half for me and half for you. 

Two Little Apples
Two little apples hanging on a tree (extend arms to side and cup each hand to make apples)
Two little apples smiling at me, (turn cupped hands forward)
I shook that tree as hard as I could, (shake body and arms)
Down came the apples, (squat down on the ground)
Mm!....were they good! (rub tummy) 

Ten Red Apples
Ten red apples grown on a tree (both hands high)
Five for you and five for me (Dangle one hand and then the other)
Let us shake the tree just so (shake body)
And then red apples will fall below (Hands fall)
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (count each fingers)

Ten Rosy Apples
Ten rosy apples high in a tree (Arms above head, fingers seperated)
Safely hiding where no one can see. 
When the wind comes rocking to and fro. (Arms sway above head)
Ten rosy apples to the ground must go. ("Apples tumble to the floor)
Apples, Apple Sauce Like the rhyme Peanut Butter & Jelly 
Ap-ples --reach up high, one arm at a time and grab those apples off the tree
Ap-ple--shake both hands in the air from side to side (branches shaking)
Sauce --with arms stretched out in front of you, slowly bend from the waist, touch the floor (apples falling to the ground) 

Do the above actions every-time you sing the Chorus
First you pick them, pick them, pick them, pick them, pick them. CHORUS
Then you peel them, peel them, peel them, peel them, peel them. CHORUS
  Then you slice them,  slice them, slice them, slice them, slice them. CHORUS
Then you cook them, cook them, cook them, cook them, cook them. CHORUS
Then you mash them,  mash them, mash them, mash them, mash them. CHORUS
Then you mix it, mix it, mix it, mix it, mix it. CHORUS
Then you eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it. Mm-m-m
