Letter H: Hippo

Well, the end of the week is here. It's been a crazy busy week for us. We had MOPS on Thursday, which meant we didn't get to any school (because its all morning, and that's just a lot for #1 to do). We prepped a LOT of apples, and we're picking more tonight. We are figuring out the logistics for starting a THIRD worship service at our church....Pastor's heading it up, so we are planning some things together. Kind of fun.

Anyway, a view into our week. Everything we did came from COAH Letter H unit. I didn't take as many picture this week because Pastor did school with #1 on Friday while #2 and I did our own thing and we just enjoyed schooling....guess pictures just didn't cross my mind.
Looking at the weather, this day it was RAINY, for once!

Left: Instead of ink dotters this week, we used stickers, took a little longer and was more of a fine motor activity for both kids.
Right: Making the letter H out of unifex cubes.

Left: Gluing foam pieces on the letter Hh
Right:Milk Cap Spelling.

Left: Hh Magnet Page
Right: Making a Helicopter with Tangrams (we also did a hot air balloon).

Cutting and Gluing. This takes a lot of time and he's getting better at it. I still can't tell if he's right or left handed he switches while he writes and when he cuts, and seems to be proficient with both hands.

Sorting smallest to largest. It was easy in the start, but he got a little stumped along the way.

  2. We did H last week too and used some of the same printables!! We often use stickers instead of dot markers for the dot letters and my kids love it. Actually we use these stickers for a lot of things because they are so cheap and versitile!

Lovely to discover your blog via the TGIF link up.
