Here's a recipe for you that you probably haven't had or better, cannot pronounce. It's a great winter "comfort" soup! We're making it this week!
10 cups water 2 1/3 cups flour
12 chicken bouillon cubes 3 eggs
1 medium onion 1 cup low fat milk
1/2 stick butter pinch or two of salt
4 medium potatoes, cubed 1pt or 2%milk or fat free half and half
Pinch of Pepper
Chicken, cut up (optional)
Bacon, cut up (optional
Saute the onion in butter. Boil the soup ingredients: water, chicken bouillon cubes, onion and butter mixture, potatoes, parsley and pepper (and optional ingredients if you choose). While the soup is boiling, make the knoephla: flour, eggs, low fat milk, and salt. Drop 1/4 to 1/2 teaspon of knoelpha at a time into the boiling mixture. Do not cover, but simmer for 50 minutes. Add the pint of milk or half and half at the end. Simmer 10 minutes. Enjoy.
