Lisa Jo Baker for Five Minute Fridays (except I'm writing mine on Saturday). It's a simple 5 minutes of unedited writing. Time to break free...
This week at our church we had a Journey to the Cross event in which there was 10 or so different stations that we "traveled" to like Jesus traveled to the cross. They brought in a LIVE donkey. #1 was super excited to see the donkey, #2 was terrified, and #3 really doesn't have an opinion yet.
This journey that we took was a very meaningful and thought provoking journey. We experienced many things that Jesus experienced. We did some coin rubbings, had some lamb, experienced the last supper, pasted Roman guards, hammered in nails to some wood, put some vinegar up to our lips from sponges, and saw the empty tomb, just to name SOME of stations.
This coming week we remember Jesus' journey. We remember Jesus. We remember how he died for us to take away ALL our sins. We remember.
"May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God
and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has granted to us all things
that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who
called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us
his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may
become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the
corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire." 2 Peter 1:2-4
During the upcoming holy week I pray that God is with you and your family. I pray you find peace, hope, and JOY in the RISEN LORD.
